Maître David Freiheit is the youngest of five children, in what can only be described as a family of collectively members of the Quebec, Ontario, New York and/or California Bar.

Maître Freiheit studied Creative Arts at Dawson College, where he graduated with distinctions. He then attended McGill University, and completed his Bachelor of Arts, graduating with Honors in philosophy and a Minor in Eastern European history. During his undergraduate studies and as part of an exchange program with McGill, Maître Freiheit spent one year studying philosophy at La Sorbonne in Paris.

Upon completion of his undergraduate degree from McGill, he moved to Quebec City, where he obtained his Civil Law degree from Université Laval. He knew from a very young age that he wanted to become a lawyer, and to the extent that he never had any plans of leaving our spectacular province, his decision to study and be immersed in French was a logical step in his career plan.

During his studies at Université Laval, Maître Freiheit was elected and served as Editor-in-Chief of Le Verdict, Université Laval’s Law Journal. In his graduating year, he was elected and served as president of the Association des Étudiants et Étudiantes en Droit (the AED), Université Laval’s Law Student Association.

Maître Freiheit worked as a stagiaire at Borden Ladner Gervais L.L.P. After being sworn in to the Quebec Bar in 2007, he continued his career as an attorney at Borden Ladner Gervais, where he specialized in commercial litigation.

Throughout the course of his career, Maître Freiheit has crafted an expertise in, most notably, landlord-tenant disputes, injunctions, contract law, arbitration, class-actions, and copyright and entertainment law. He has extensive experience in virtually every aspect of commercial litigation, including drafting proceedings, examinations on discovery, debating objections, and pleading before judges, both at the Superior Court and appellate level.

Maître Freiheit is known for, and prides himself on his strong work ethic, superior analytic and communication skills, and his ability to diagnose existing problems, foresee potential problems, and suggest straight-forward and cost-effective solutions. His determination to vigorously pursue his clients’ interests in an honorable and intellectually honest manner has earned Maître Freiheit the respect of his clients, adversaries, and the judicature alike.
